CLASSICALLY STYLED VINTAGE FREESTANDING GAS FIREPLACE INSERT
These were so popular during the early 20th century. This vintage gas insert was meant to be freestanding and sat in a shallow depth firebox. Sometimes they were vented...sometimes not. This beauty has classic design details...like the Adamesque urn medallion on the front & the urn finials on the ends (that are meant to mimic andirons). It is totally intact complete with its original ceramic elements that cover the gas jets below. Once the gas is lit...the elements are what heat up and these inserts produce some heat! Nicely detailed & period correct. Measuring 24" wide x 20" high x 12" deep. Made of cast iron & ceramic materials.
(They do not contain a thermal couple that shuts the gas off if the flame comes out like heaters today)
Packing costs: 125.00
