COMPLETED ANTIQUE FIREPLACE MANTEL INSTALLATION WITH NON-VENTED GAS INSERT IN A CUSTOMER'S HOME
This is one fabulous antique composite fireplace mantel that we installed in an old 1941 garage (it is not available for sale). The composite mantel is a casting made to ressemble carved stone. It has been placed over a new-non-vented gas insert (20,000 BTUs). To cover up the black metal surround, we placed a sheet of Durock (cement board) with the firebox opening cut out... then tiled around the insert opening with tumble stone & hand made tiles for an authentic look creating a spectacular overall atmosphere. The antique mantel was then placed in the center of a pair 1860's Gothic confessional fronts that were made into bookcases, creating a library from a once very ugly 1970's garage redo. The mantel, remote controlled gas insert & the confessional fronts/bookcases were all purchased from Toledo Architectural Artifacts & then transformed into this library. A great example of what old antique pieces can do! Contact us for antique fireplace mantels in stock & available variations on vented/non vented gas inserts. Why settle for some ugly option from a big box store, when you can create a masterpiece that will make you proud & add 1000's of dollars in equity to your home. Just think of sitting in front of a wonderful fire in your living room, dining room or bedroom that actually looks original to your home!
